Bollywood box-office report of the week

Finally, after a month of drought, with hardly any big releases, things are getting interesting as this Friday will see an interesting clash between two biggies; Yash Raj Films Pvt. Ltd.'s DIL BOLE HADIPPA and S.K. Films Enterprises' WANTED. Given the unique and sustained promos, with emphasis on Salman's action image and care-a-damn attitude, WANTED seems to hold the edge.

But DIL BOLE HADIPPA too is backing on Shahid Kapoor's new image of a reliable solo bet at the box-office and its theme of the passion of India, cricket. And so it seems to be a double treat for the audience. Both WANTED and DIL BOLE HADIPPA will reap the benefit of an almost five day weekend with holidays in many parts of the country on Friday (Jumat-ul-Vida) and in Uttar Pradesh (Agrasen Jayanti) on Saturday, not to forget the Eid holidays on Monday/Tuesday.

Last Friday's multiple releases, BAABARR, VAADA RAHA ... I PROMISE, RUSLAAN and AAMRAS have disappointed collectively, barring to an extent VAADA RAHA... I PROMISE (with dull collections) and BAABARR (at single screens of North India). But with the double Tsunami in the form of WANTED and DIL BOLE HADIPPA, whatever little hopes the makers of VAADA RAHA and BAABARR harbour will disappear
